Types of Shots

Sweep

  • CF is set at 2m. Arms are spread wide. With a violent movement, the player, in one movement, picks the ball up from underneath with an outstretched arm, and does a sidearm swing with arm using as much body power as can be mustered.

Pop

  • CF is set on or about 2m. On ‘feeling’ an advantage over the guard, he either jumps up and swivels, or pushes out and swivels, and shoots from off the back with power and precision.

Layout

  • CF is set on or about 2m. On ‘feeling’ an advantage over the guard, he either jumps up and swivels, or pushes out and swivels, and shoots from off the back with power and precision.

Backhand

  • CF is set, with the guard out of position on his left shoulder (foir a right hander). CF grabs away side of ball, brings the ball towards him and then violently extends the elbow backwards, whipping the wrist to get as much power and speed as possible.
